CHILDREN'S MINISTRY

Our children's ministry is one of the crowning jewels of our congregation. It's an important focus for us as our children are the future of the church. Our ministries are designed to foster their spiritual upbringing during this crucial life stage.

JESUS' LAMBS

We call our ministry for children from birth to second grade our Jesus' Lambs. Katie Barnes and Katie Watts head up this ministry that is designed to share Jesus' love with our little ones. This group participates in a variety of activities meant for faith building fun, including holiday parties, Grandparent's Day celebrations, and age-appropriate service projects. If you would like to help with or host an event, please contact Joel or Emma Pritchett, and they will welcome you to the team. Check out our upcoming events to stay up to date.

TWEENS

Our tweens are in the third through fifth grades and are headed up by Clark Johnson. Your son or daughter will find lots of love, plenty of friends, and numerous activities to help them grow in their faith. From monthly devotionals, attending worship services at Ashley Glen Assisted Living Facility, our annual week at Camp Inagehi, Lads to Leaders, and Timothy and Tabitha class to fun excursions like movie nights and tubing, there’s always something going on for your tween. Check out our upcoming events to stay up to date.

Lads to Leaders

Teaching students to do “Bible things in Bible ways” is the essence of Lads to Leaders.

Lads to Leaders (L2L) is the oldest and largest leadership training program used by the churches of Christ. It's a tool that our congregation uses to help prepare our youth and adults for service in the Kingdom of God and to develop their overall leadership potential.

This year-round training program has 33 events in which students (kindergarten and up) can participate. Events include Bible reading, speaking, song leading, puppets, art, photography, debate, scrapbook, website building, and more. Each year, a new Scripture-based workbook called Pearls is published for group study.

Chris Parker, our family involvement minister, heads up this ministry. Please let him know if you are interested in participating in or helping with this life-changing program. For more information on the L2L program, visit Lads 2 Leaders.

Timothy and Tabitha classes

In the summer, rising second through fifth grade students participate in our annual Timothy and Tabitha service camp, where they learn valuable ways to serve our church family. Girls and boys are invited to participate in this spiritual development opportunity. They’ll learn how to prepare communion, conduct worship services, prepare meals for and visit families in need, and much more.

Named for Timothy, Paul’s young apprentice in ministry mentioned multiple times throughout the New Testament, and Tabitha, a disciple from Joppa, who the book of Acts describes as “always doing good and helping the poor (Acts 9:36),” we hope to inspire our children to develop a heart of hospitality in serving others.

"Don't let anyone look down on you because you are young, but set an example for the believers in speech, in conduct, in love, in faith and in purity." I Timothy 4:12
